Just to be a devil's advocate, what were the 70 books at the time Christianity was started? And why did the Council of Jerusalem remove them?

The Torah consists of three parts: Torah (the five books of Moses -- Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy), Nevi'im (Prophets) and Ketuvim (writings) and do not include anything that is known to Christians as the New Testament (a name that Jews will not use because that would imply that the Torah was outdated and that the NT replaces it.) If you want, I can give you a list of the different books that are in the three parts of the Torah.
