I still have my Bang & Olufsen Beovision 7702 4:3 ratio TV built in 1984...
When comparing picture quality with a modern TV, you would have to prise it
from my cold dead hand before I give it up for a new one.... Seriously, I
fear the day it blows up and cannot be repaired... Everyone that sees it
remarks on how great the picture quality is.... But then, in 1984 it
retailed for 600 ($1200) so given inflation, to replace that TV with one
that has an equivalent level of picture quality, I'd be expecting to pay 3
- 4,000 ($6 - 8,000)....

Nowadays, the TV is used in monitor mode only but back in the day it had a
digital tuner (yes, a digital tuner in 1984) and a host of really nice
features like auto-tune etc.. These things didn't start appearing on most
TV's until the early nineties so it was way ahead of its time...

Only problem with it is that it is housed in a teak cabinet so it looks
really dated... That and you need an engine hoist to move it!
