Yes, I *was* trying to move it. I did move it. My bitch is that now
that I have moved it, Word and Excel don't work, even after I moved it
back. The remove comment was an example.

I will keep the Systemworks suggestion in mind. It might be less
trouble to get the Office disk out than to go buy a whole other
program, but convenience is suddenly no longer the issue. Has anyone
here ever used Open Office on windows? 2000 Pro if it matters.

Your suggestion did give me an idea, but a quick prowl through
hkey_local_machine and hkey_current_user brought no bright ideas and
no joy.
