the second world war?

I like to think that the neighbourhood I grew up in was fairly
typical, with an Ukrainian Orthodox Church, a United Church of Canada,
and a Synagogue all within a block of each other. While there were
some stupid incidents in Winnipeg, far more worked against those
idiots than supported them. I remember once incident where a neo-nazi
group wanted to hold a rally on the legislative grounds -they had to
go to court to get the permit. And more people turned up protesting
them than their supporters.
