you're right about most not being worth anything...yes, that was the period when everybody bought 5 copies of everything and placed them in bags and boards without even reading them.
I doubt you'd be able to sell them to any dealers...your idea about donating to a children's hospital isn't bad...just make sure they're all suitable for children (a lot of the Image stuff many not be). you could -try- to put them up as a lot on ebay...but again, being from the period they are, you wouldn't necessarily get a decent price for them.
