Depends how much money you need to maintain your site and it's hosting. For a while my site was generating around 10000 to 14000 google ad impressions a day, with a 0.2% click through, this produced between roughly $120 per month. This is enough to cover hosting charges for the site, so it is good enough for me. However I don't know how much other sites generate in ad revenue or what their hosting requirements are, my site is just a hobby site, so does not need to make money, if you plan on making a site for revenue stream then those figures may not be so viable.
