That is similar to the weather in the plains of Montana, one of the places of my childhood. One could have a blizzard from the north that dumps several inches of snow one day, then a few days latter the wind comes from the south and one would have a "Chinook"(sp?) where all the snow would disappear overnight and it would be a fall like day with temperatures in the 50's or 60's.
