We have a firewall the connects to the router of the ISP.  The DMZ and LAN 
ports of the firewall connect to separate switches.  So, yes, they are isolated.

This is really driving me bonkers.  What's is really annoying is that the 
servers with connections to both the DMZ and LAN are slow in downloading from 
the internet.  Another server (SQL Server) which is only connected to the LAN 
downloads 5x as fast (I tried 3 or 4 servers with dual connections and they are 
almost exactly the same rate).  The firewall will drop packets when it detects 
an IP spoof so I think this is affecting the server connection rate.
