Too true - however once I buy that game I like to leverage something like HD
Advance (which allows me to play it directly from a PS2 Hard Drive) to make
it easier for me.

There are really three general "classes" to MODs:

1) Allowing you to do something better (like play games from the HD on PS2
or without the Disc on XBox).

2) Allowing you to do something that the companies don't want to you to do,
but that is legal (or at least legally gray). This includes playing import
games and legitimate backups.

3) Allowing you to break the law and play games you've not paid for. This
includes playing downloaded images and capturing images.

Unfortunately pretty much all the solutions out there for 1) and 2) also
allow you to do 3).

I can honestly say that I own every game I've put on my PS2 Hard Drive via
HD Advance - but I'm not fool enough to think that's a common situation with
the software.
