just to add to that...they say that sleep apnea was a factor (-the- factor?) in Reggie White's death.
the heart needs oxygen, and depriving it of that oxygen on a nightly basis only serves to weaken it. oxygen helps the brain too, i figure :) when i went to the sleep clinic, i saw a video about how somebody would come to my house with a number of machines/masks, and let me choose the one that was 'best for me'. the reality of it was they just stopped by and dropped off a machine. it was pretty loud...the mask itself wasn't terribly uncomfortable tho. if i do get another one out here after my benefits kick in, i'm going to be sure to 'test drive' a few first tho. even though my wife said the machine i had was less annoying than my snoring...i'd still like something a bit more quiet.
