The classic Rx is ritalin or some other amphetimine. Some doctors are reluctant to prescribe it to adults for fear that they are just making this stuff up to get drugs. If you have an established primary care doctor you have a better chance, or he may suggest a trial with Wellbutrin. Personally, I hated Wellbutrin, but I got it on the theory that the unplained fatigue I had was depression. It wasn't, so it's not surprising it didn't work.
There is also Strattera, but there was some sort of unhappy surprise in a study with that drug. The details got drowned out in the consternation over the painkillers this past December, but I am sure you'll find it on a web search. Personally I would go with the amphetimines because they are well-known and actually fairly safe assuming you have no cardiac history. I'm thinking that I'll get through the sleep study first before i have this conversation with my providers again.... since I go to a large clinic with a lot of turnover in doctors they are very cautious. Overly so in my opinion but then....Albuquerque does have a healthy colobny of meth freaks so probably they have learned their caution the hard way.
