You obviously do not understand Social Security. If they ever tried to change 
it into another welfare program, I would rather it be completely and utterly 
scrapped. It is not Socialist Security after all.

The only requirement is you PAID INTO it. What you get out is directly related 
to what you put in. You should not have to put in if you cannot get it out. It 
is not a tax.

(It is not well run, the returns are horrible (but more than went in), but it 
is not a tax)

And the Social Security system has no connection (nor should it) to any other 
government program.

Yes yes it is currently an entitlement program, where the only
requirement is that you be over a certain age. Why no add another
requirement, income below a certain level? Make it an insurance
program. And the level could be be high... I just find it obscene that
multimillionaires are drawing a paycheck from the government while the
rest of us tighten our belts.

And while we are reforming why not remove that income cap....
currently, all income over $82,000 is exempt from social security
taxes. I know of no good reason for this except that it was a lot of
