I like cats but will never get one due to my allergies. Getting a dog, which is on my list of things to get when I get a home, is only possible if I get a "hairless" dog like a pug. My allergies to dogs are milder and then add in the short hair. Cats that look relatively hairless still trigger my allergies. Add in that my girlfriend dislikes cats.
