BACKGROUND: I have a task to create a demo web service to show what they are all about. My first though is a basic inventory/order component. We are a blood bank, so this would offer up a current inventory of available products and allow hospitals and such to order needed blood types. QUESTION So any suggestions on what might make a good, but not overly complex, demonstration of a web service, without actually doing anything in the backend? I can read the inventory, but obviously I can not actually input any order type information. I would rather not try and create a substitute backend just for a demonstration. I can think of two functions, one to read the inventory and a second to accept an order request. But, that seems a bit too simple to me. For those of you who may wonder why I don't ask around here, I have. But the people here do not understand the concept of a web service thus the desire for a demonstration.
