Well actually Cows, chickens and lambs are domestic Animals. They are not
common PETS, but that is not to say they have not been examples of people
keeping critters of these types as pets.

I am sorry that I followed the link, because I really did dislike SEEING the
images. I can not in clear conscience condemn anybody who chooses to do this.
Because as was said, if you are willing to have a rabbit skinned for food
and/or fashion purposes, then there is little difference in a doing so with a
cat. And rabbits are relatively popular pets.

Some caveats on my opinion:
1) Anybody who would do something like this to somebody else's pet without
permission is a criminal and justice is often too soft on this offense since it
is committed against "only an animal".

2) I am not a vegetarian, but I do not have any desire to experience the
process that gets meat to the table. At Culinary school, I took a zero on an
assignment because it required me to watch the slaughter and butchering of a
calf. I appreciate that this is done. I do not feel I need to witness it.

3) When animals are harvested, suffering should always be minimized. Getting
pleasure at the "power of life and death" or similar feelings and motives are a
good reason for somebody to get some professional help if you ask me.
