So, I was playing Burnout 3 today. I had left the system alone for about 10 minutes when a black screen appeared that said my disc was possibly damanged - or whatever. I naturally assumed a dirty disc. I popped it out and didn't notice any obvious smudges or anything looking like a scratch. I put the game back in and it loaded just fine.
However... when I went to load my saved game, it told my saved game was possibly damanged... and the game froze! It kinda "shuttered' a bit first - like it had lage, and then simply stopped responding. Here is the wierd thing. When I browse my hard drive, the saved games show up just fine. I assume if they were corrupt it would say so. Here is something else odd. I don't get a chance to actually load my game. I select "Load Profile". It _should_ show my two saved games and let me pick one. But it crashes at the point, not at the point of actually loading a game.
