He won $1.4 million. 3% ($45,000) was automatically taken out as a gratuity for the dealers and tournament staff. Upon being awarded his winnings he was asked if he wanted to leave something for the dealers. He asked if the 3% had already been taken out which it had and he opted to give an additional $544.
He has since been accused of insulting the staff with such a small tip, being inconsiderate of the staff etc.. He responded that 3% had been taken out and anything beyond that was pure generosity and chould be viewed as such rather than complained about. The second place winner left an additional tip of $15,000 out of his $750,000 winnings. This was above teh 3% ($22,500) grautity automatically taken from his winnings. I read this a couple of hours ago but this is a brief synopsis of what I recall. -----Original Message----- From: Sam [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, February 01, 2005 1:02 PM To: CF-Community Subject: Re: Poker Roomie Tip Controversy I can't access it, how about a summary?
