My dad, the master mechanic, says it's probably the belt and the
pulley on the power steering pump, and you should be able to fix it
yourself using the directions in a Chilton manual for under a 100
bucks.  He's raving mad because this happened to one of the ladies at
his church and the garage charged her over 400 dollars to fix it.
