That's a good example.  I also think people can "support evil" via
justification when their action isn't the evil act itself.

For example, let's assume that the subjects weren't asked to shock the
actor, but instead to get some water for the guy who was doing it.  I
bet the 65% would go to 85%.

The point being the farther people are from something the more willing
they are to prosper from it.

How many people that buy hamburger would be willing to kill the cow? 
(I'm not saying I'm a veggie, but I just think people are will to eat
it without thinking about it came to be)
