I agree that the price of CFDJ is a bit too high for the content that is
delivered. I had a subscription for several years, but had to,
unwillingly, give it up because of the cost.

Up until that time, I had every single issue they printed. I was proud
of myself. Then, IMO, things started to get off-track of CF
development. Also, I had to keep calling because I would never receive
my issues. One time, I received a free year's worth of the magazine
because of my troubles. (I proved my payment with credit card receipts,
but they had no record of my payment.)

For the last year or so, I have been receiving the Java Developer
Journal. I never asked for it, I never paid for it, but it comes each
and every month.

I even asked Sys-Con about it and if they would switch the JDJ to CFDJ
instead. The next month, I got one issue of CFDJ along with two issues
of JDJ. Go figure. Ever since that month, I haven't received any
CFDJs, but the JDJs still come in on schedule.

I looked at a CFDJ a few months ago and I couldn't really find any good
CF programming articles. There was too much of "my thoughts" and all
the RIA stuff. RIA is fine and dandy, but I would say the majority of
CF developers don't use that solution.

Maybe Sys-Con can develop a magazine just for RIA and return CFDJ to the
coders.
