Has anyone on this list gone down the Microsoft application development certification lane? A few of us here at our company might be getting a chance to take some classes to further our IT skills and since we're all pretty comfortable with CF, we're thinking it might be a good idea to learn a little .NET and maybe get a MCAD or MCSD certification. (There's always Flash and Java classes, there's just a ton more out there on MS products...of course, that's because MS put them out there.)
Anyways I have a few questions, if you have the time: 1) Are the courses and/or certifications worth it? (Especially if you're paying next to nothing) 2) Can you expect, with reasonable intelligence and a moderate programming history, to take the required courses (http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/mcad/requirements.asp) and then pass the Exams shortly after? ...or will you need some good hands-on time, building apps? 3) Other than the .NET related courses, if you had a learning fund to dispose of, what classes would y'all take?
