Cool Car!

You can put the sensors anywhere behind plastic, cloth, leather, etc.
- just not metal. Lots of people build them into their headrests.
Just buy an extra headrest, remove some stuffing, and insert the RD.
Run the wires through the seat. I don't know if that'd work for you
or not.

You can test your install by finding the nearest unmanned speed
checker. If you don't know where one if, try the airport. They
usually have one of these things. O'hare did last time I drove around
there. Are you near Chicago?

The Laser shifter goes behind the license plate since that's where the
officers have to aim their lasers. Make sure you have a stealth
install with your detector, or a quick release, because if you get hit
with laser the police will wonder where their reading went too. It
will take them a minute to suspect you may be shifting.
