Paul, Wife and I just purchased the model that's one better than the one you are looking at. We got the "better" one becuase it has a soak cycle (very important if you have kids...). We are very pleased with it so far. It does bang around a bit during the spin cycle, but that's normal and it depends on what you are washing (towels vs jeans). These new front loaders spin really fast so it reduces the amount of time for drying your clothes.
As for brands, I've always liked Kennmore. Never had any major issues with their washers or dryers. Last set we had lasted for over 15 years and still worked when we replaced them. Good Luck!
