You have to look at what you're doing and decide if you need really dynamic 
information or just sorta dynamic information.

And that is what I am hoping to have a discussion on, so I can have a better 
idea of the trade offs of different choices.  I figured there where at least 
three ways I could use ColdFusion as a CSS preprocessor.  First, the method I 
detailed in my initial posting of linking to a cfm file as a style sheet.  
Secondly, I presume I could achieve this, if I had control over the server, by 
setting ColdFusion to process all .css files.  Finally I figured that one could 
use a ColdFusion template to create and write a .css file.

So, what is the trade offs?  It sounds like options one and two will result in 
the browser not caching the CSS for subsequent pages, thus increasing the 
bandwidth consumption.  Does that sound correct?
