So you are advocating our government's definition of marriage exactly mirror
the Catholic Church's definition of marriage? I didn't think so.

The argument that Yves seemed to be making was that he saw that there we "good"
and "bad" marriages. The difference between them being that "good" marriages
advanced the biological (and biblical) agenda of "fruitfulness". (Please excuse
the pun.)

I was pointing out that many "bad" marriages (by the definition of biology)
were currently supported by our government's (and those many religions)
definition of marriage. And that gay marriage (or no marriage) could be
considered "good" if it advanced the biological imperative (Melissa Ethridge
has 2 kids, doesn't she?).

The catholic church, and many other religions, that have been formulating
their doctrines for hundreds of years, would be against many of the things
on your list.

While I don't agree with their views, I can't really call them "poorly
thought out".
