Another stereotype that could be easily disproven if you were to actually 
attend a race.  The number of pickup trucks is not much more than your 
average cross-section of American public.

Of course, this sport "grew up" as a blue-collar sport where guys would 
drive trucks in their normal job, then would pack up the racecar on the 
trailer and race on the weekends.

Some just like to watch what they would never try on the highway or side 
roads.  Some, like me, like to have the truck for the utility of it, and 
have a "fun" car to really drive.  Before I bought a house, I had a nice 
little VW Corrado.  That little bad boy had some real handling for a 4 
cylinder VW.  Sigh...I miss that car.  The supercharger was dying on me 
though, and I didn't have the money to get it rebuilt.
