It prevents the kind of damage you'd see from an unregulated freeze, but not
even close to all.  Ice crystals still form, the damage is still massive.

When they get it to work I'll look at the tech again.  ;^)

I want to be clear - I'm not against the idea of Cryo - I just think that
the execution, right now, is hokum.  It's like ColdFusion, anti-gravity and
free-energy - pseudo-science with no reality to back up the claims.  They
take people's money with promises that can never be verified or confirmed.

Perfecting cryogenic stasis would be incredibly useful for general medical
use, not just the necromancy it's bent to now.  Imagine a field hospital
with the ability to freeze a critical patient until they can be moved to a
better facility or an accident victim that can be frozen, scanned and
evaluated patiently and precisely before aid is given.

It's an incredibly potential-rich technology that just isn't there yet.
