Well....

1) Too late!
2) They do that around here. See #1.
3) Too true. Although it beats having to pick up dog poops. When I see the
neighbors doing that, especially in the rain and snow, I think that it is
much better to have cats.

They do seem to like to go up. They aren't as fond of coming down. The wall
around my kitchen does not go to the ceiling and Doran loved climbing up
there when we first moved in. It got him a lot of attention! When he got
sick he was too weak to get up there and I figured he had forgotten about
it. About 2 weeks ago I heard a really loud thumpy, scrabbly noise and go
into the living room. There is Doran in all his fat glory perched on the top
of the wall. Then he started crying because he couldn't get down. Of course
as soon as I got a chair to drag over there and fetch him, he jumped down
with a loud crash and went strutting off.

well...i guess if thats how they are, thats how they are. But i do think
they should go out if possible. this would be for several reasons:

1) they would drive me insane if they were about all the time.
2) they can use all their natural faculties, and hunt, and prowl, and do
those kind of things
3) it beats having a litter tray.

having said all that, i'm an overprotective cat father too. We have
scaffolding up around our building for decorating work, and the little cat,
Loki, went exploring. She got stuck and I had to climb up three stories of
scaffolding to rescue her (twice). The other one, Beren, thought it was most
amusing!!

They are very shy. In fact, Marlinette runs away from me sometimes. I can't
tell you how annoying that is. Especially when I've just fed them and all of
a sudden she goes running out of the kitchen because I moved in some way
that she didn't approve of. Ungrateful little brat. : )

I don't think they are really well equipped to deal with the great outdoors.
Plus there is a two story drop from back balcony and a one story drop from
front balcony.

They stay nice and safe inside and don't get into fights like those
troublemaker cats outside.
