Don't get me wrong I love my daughter more than life itself. And she is a
great kid. My father wasn't much of a father and we did little to nothing
together. I do everything with my daughter and pride myself in my
relationship with her. I go to her Art classes and ballet classes etc.. and
she is my little shadow. If I go work in the yard she is right there with her
little gloves and rake, if I go into the shop to work she breaks out her little
tool set (see photo) www.ketsdever.com/images/shoptime.jpg.

I guess I had always wanted to be the father to a son that my dad wasn't. And
it reading and enjoying the joy of others doing those things with there sons I
just realized it's not going to happen for me with a son. Somehow for a minute
there was a difference. Its hard to explain.

I have had the pleasure of being a father, cousin and best friend to two
cousins whose father died when they were toddlers. As they reached their teens
both of them lived with me for a while (they are 9 and 12 years younger than
me). And I got them both through high school when it looked like neither of
them would make it. They have both grown into responsible and respectable men.
So I am very proud of them and the fact that I may have played a little part in
shaping their lives.

Hey Ken,

First congrats on the kid.

Also why can't the girls be into pinewood racing?
