Oh, do I sympathize! I've got about 800GB of pre-1950s mp3s, much off unique 78s and 45s and pre-disk formats (player, music boxes, etc). I've got about 500GB of digitized magazines and ephimera, most from pre 1930. I've got about 300GB of digitized books, most pre 1900 (including many pre 1800). The newer ones are mainly hand printed or small run specialty books (like cookbooks from a local church)
It's not even the storage that is killing me, it's the *$&%^& backups (especially the time is takes)! It's not that my place of work is paying me on a 1099 and I have to cover all my own taxes. It's not that I really have to leave them. It's not that my back is out nor is it that PBD (Powered By Detroit) is only a few weeks away. My problem is that I'm out of hard drive space. I've got 1.3 T (that's T as in terabytes) of digital comics and I have no place for the ones I'm downloading now. I haven't even read half of them nor can I really sort them properly. They're spread out over 5 different drives and 200 CDs. I need a drive stack. I need more data space. I need Google to hire me as an archivist of comics. (DC isn't interested). Yes, that's my real problem. So I can either catch up on my reading or implement a ColdFusion MX 7 asynchronous logging system for HoF. And a blog. And And And. And yes Erika, it's all on my list. :) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Find out how CFTicket can increase your company's customer support efficiency by 100% http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=49 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:151708 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
