It's not just downstream speeds that determines a good gaming connection. You need to have reasonably low latency and good upstream to see optimal performance. To that degree, services like Direcway are useless for high-speed gaming (like Counterstrike or Xbox Live stuff) since the latency is atrocious.

I'm moving to Kansas City in a few weeks though, at which point I'll probably end up with cable (Comcast) unless I can find a decent local provider in Olathe. - Jim Paul Ihrig wrote: >ok, been having a heck of a time with my current isp Time-Warner >just trying to switch locations from apartment to house. >they have deleted my account now TWICE in 2 weeks! > >i just wanted to change a date of install, and they deleted my account. > >so for a game junkie, which is better? >dsl or cable? > >supposedly we get 5mb down. > >just getting tired of this. >our phone guy said dsl was way faster & a constant rate. > >just not sure. > >thanks >-paul > > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Now there’s a better way to fax. eFax makes it possible to use your existing email account to send and receive faxes.
