I see you've already gotten a ton of responses. I didn't read them all, though I did read some. I usually chose DSL over cable, mainly because I've never met a Cable company who really gives a shit about it's customers, has good customer service, or knows a single thing about maintaining a high quality of service.
And if you are going to choose DSL, I would very strongly recommend checking out Speakeasy DSL (www.speakeasy.net). You can get static IPs, host stuff from home, and they actually ENCOURAGE you to share your conenction (if that matters). They are very focused on quality of service and have very good/knowledgable technical support. I'd put them on a short list of 4 internet access/hosting companies I've encountered in my entire life who really "do things right" and go to great lengths to make sure they are doing the right thing for their customers and not just doing the minimum required to make a buck. -Cameron -- Cameron Childress Sumo Consulting Inc http://www.sumoc.com --- cell: 678.637.5072 aim: cameroncf email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] On Wed, 30 Mar 2005 14:49:20 -0500, Paul Ihrig <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > ok, been having a heck of a time with my current isp Time-Warner > just trying to switch locations from apartment to house. > they have deleted my account now TWICE in 2 weeks! > > i just wanted to change a date of install, and they deleted my account. > > so for a game junkie, which is better? > dsl or cable? > > supposedly we get 5mb down. > > just getting tired of this. > our phone guy said dsl was way faster & a constant rate. > > just not sure. > > thanks > -paul > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Purchase RoboHelp from House of Fusion, a Macromedia Authorized Affiliate and support the CF community. http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=59 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:152395 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
