thanks!
 i did dl transmit 3 for ftp'n, will try and buy if it works, I also dl'd
rubber ducky lol
 still amazed how beautiful OS X is and the gf has ms office on hers and it
cracks me up that its so much nicer on a mac then on winblows!
 I keep wanting to reboot and clean on the hour! No cleaning, no rebooting, no
spyware, no constantly cleaning registry and startups, none of that crap, why
on gods green earth aren't more ppl using these?

 I bought this one of of ebay just too see if I really would like it since I
couldnt get pearpc or cherryos to work.
 So I bought a b&w g3 for $70, threw in some more ram and a bigger harddrive
and figured if nothing else I will be able to test sites with safari if nothing
else.
 My main pc is a dell 8250 p4 2.4 with 768mb of ram and the sad part is this
old mac is still faster and I havent even hot rodded it yet.
 But with how good the g3 is I am definately not afraid too spend some cash on
a big boy:)

 But still even for those who would like to have a mac to test safari on this
is a perfect set up.

 heres what it cost me.
 g3 power mac $70
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=14911&item=5761238825&rd=1
 shipping $40
 256 mb ram $50
 60 gb harddrive $20
 OSX 10.3.8 $0
 total $180
 cant beat that!!

 one problem i do have though is that when i close ff I cant find where it was
installed to get it back. Any ideas where it installs? Its not in the
applications folder.

 thanks!
 dave

I don't clean mine, and I run OSX 10.3.8 on 3 machines. My go-to software is:

* Firefox and/or Camino
* Entourage for Outlook environments (email)
* Poisoned for file sharing
* CodeTek's Virtual Desktop
* GraphicConverter
* Transmit for FTPing
* Add DivX, Windows Media Player, and Mplayer if you play lots of codecs
* Audio Hijack Pro is good if you like to record streaming audio live
or on a timer.
* TelnetLauncher is good if you connect to a lot of UNIX servers.
* BBEdit is good for HTML Dev other than Dreamweaver or whatever else you like.

Other than that it comes with everything you'd need - lotsa goodies in
Utilities. If you like UNIX stuff, SourceForge has tons of stuff
