I'm on day 3 with a mac and I friggin LOVE IT!!!
And I mean LOVE IT!, did I mention I LOVE IT?
 haha

Granted I just bought an older g3 off ebay just to give it a run and see how
it went but even that is as faster and certainly more stable than my dell p4
ever was. Personally I think the apperence makes xp look like crap and things
work the way you expect them to work and you can update it without crashing it
(had 3 putes at dads work crash yesterday from ms updates)
After updating this g3 with more ram and a bigger hd and putting osx 10.3.8 on
there and buying it I have only spent less than $200, needless to say I am very
happy and cant wait to buy a big boy :)

Installing cfm was a bit of a chore but Sean Corfield proved once again he is
a true gem and got me through it even though he is sick (hope you feel
better!), THANKS AGAIN SEAN!!

Ray, the gf has a brand new g4 laptop and that thing just screams, I have yet
to see a pc that could even remotly keep up with it.
It's just different but so much better.
I am going to buy a kvm switch in a few minutes, I can't wait to see it on a
lcd screen:)

I am seeing some games for macs now as well so I wouldn't discount that quite
yet but I really don't know.

Like I said in my post on cf-comm, that I keep wanting to run system cleaners
and reboot every hour and do the usual daily things like running spybot and
virus checking, blah blah, will be hard to break those habits but those are
habits i will be glad 2 break :)

Are you getting a good deal on that one?

Subject: Opinions wanted on PowerMac

Anyone here made the switch from PC to Mac? How was it? I'm
considering it for a few reasons...

Also, here are the specs of the machine I configured:

.. Dual 2GHz PowerPC G5
.. 1GB DDR400 SDRAM (PC3200) - 2x512
.. 250GB Serial ATA - 7200rpm
.. ATI Radeon 9800 XT w/256MB DDR SDRAM
.. 8x SuperDrive (DVD-R/CD-RW)
.. PCI-X Gigabit Ethernet Card
.. Apple Keyboard & Apple Mouse - U.S. English
.. Mac OS X - U.S. English

This seem reasonably powerful enough? I currently have a Pentiun 4 3.2
ghz. Will this be slower, faster, etc?

So why do I want to move? Well, I'm always looking for nice write offs
to offset extra income. I haven't bought a new PC in _ages_ since it
seems like things haven't really improved much.I did recently get the
new Dell flatscreen - but that should work fine on the Mac, right?
Also, do HP printers generally work? If not, I can always keep it
connected to the PC. Anything else I should be aware of? I know I
won't be able to play PC games - but I sitll have a killer laptop for
that.
