I'd stay far far away from this and not touch it with a ten foot pole.
 Unless you are really in need of the cash, this is a slippery slope
that can lead to frustration and burnout.  You have no idea what
changes they have made or how extensive they are.  If they bought the
software for $400, and it takes you two days to update their code for
them then even at $50/hr they are going to be paying you $800 for your
time.
