We're moving in a week, and driving a 24' U-Haul from Chicago to Kansas
City. The truck rental is about $1,000, and I estimate fuel costs are
going to run about 1/5 of that. For as crappy as the gas mileage is in
the truck (7 mpg) we might as well be moving in a rented Ferrari.
Admittedly, we'd have to get rid of 99% of our stuff in order to stow it
all in the Ferrari, but still, it would be a hell of a lot more fun than
bouncing around in a U-Haul all the way through Iowa.
