That's a significant point... thanks, Dana.

So much of what we read each day, while hunting for information, is 
actually mere belief, faith, gnosis. This evangelism usually triggers 
debate from those with different pre-existing beliefs. After that it's 
easy for the whole conversation to become a mess....

I know it's preachy of me, but that trio of observation, hypothesis, and 
testing seems to work for social issues just as it does for scientific 
issues:
