Hi Sandy,
Thanks for you help, but that did not work either. The text ended
up being in a narrow vertical column to the left of the text that would not
go over the top of the image, due to the whitespace over the top over the
image, created by the margin-top. It would go under the image, and to the
left of it, but not over the top.
What I ended up doing was splitting the body string
(programmatically) into two sections. The first section comes before the
image declaration and flows naturally over the image. The second section
comes after the image declaration and flows to the left and under the image,
thereby giving me the effect I am looking for. It's not an exact placement,
but close enough.
It seems this would be the kind of thing that CSS would be very good
it, but it is not. Is there anything else you might recommend that would
take care of this situation?

Try <div id="BannerAd200x200" style="float:left; margin-top: 200px;
margin-left:280px;}
Floating and positioning are two separate items and do not work in
conjunction with each other. Top and left only work with position:relative
or position:absolute. So to achieve the positioning, you must use
margin-left and margin-right.
If you really want to learn about some of this stuff, I am teaching an
Advanced CSS class on the Tuesday before CFUNITED.
