Verdana is a MS font. Arial was a knock off of Helvetica, which is not an MS font. While Verdana may be specifically designed for the Web, that doesn't make others bad. Most online newspapers are still use Arial, Helvetica. Now if she said Times new roman or any other serif font I'd have agreed
