I've purchased a few. I recommend posting lots of pics and as detailed info
about the vehicle as possible. Be brutally honest about the condition including
close up photos of every ding, stain etc...

I've only purchased about half the vehicles I've won on ebay because the
descriptions were less than accurate. I don't mind a ding or two etc...
however, it may affect the price I am willing to pay.

I won an auction for a vehicle in Los Angeles. I flew down to get it and it
turned out to be a bondo buggy. It had been in several accidents, the body
work was crap, There were areas that the bondo went through into the engine
compartment, the paint didn't match etc... However, the photos didn't show
these flaws. They were taken from a distance, in lighting that didn't show the
detail. It looked like a great car in great condition. Until you got to
within 20 feet of it. Then the truth was obvious. It turned out to be a shady
dealer /auction house and all their cars were in similar condition.
