yeah, I agree.  Although Mr. Soros seems to be very committed so it
will be interesting to see what they come up with.

The reference to the Carlyle Group is that they've been accused of
long using their political connections to "enhance" profits, find
companies, or to outright fund government "projects" in exchange for
favors.  To the extent they're involved in that activity, and I'd say
the odds are they are, that's not too transparent.  It's extremely
unlikely that you could pack a PEG with Washington insiders like James
Baker and not be involved in something under the table.

Which, I guess, would still fall under politics as usual.  Yup.  I
definitely agree with you.
