We use GeoTrust, they are something like $129 - and they still support
all browsers at that price. Of course, that is the price that we get
through our hosting company. Their real price is $169, but I think our
host (Intermedia) gets a deal through them. You should check if your
hosting company has a partnership with anyone, you might be able to get
a better deal that way - and typically, if a host has a deal with a
vendor, it is typically much easier to get the SSL installed if you use
their's.

Komodo is the best deal - like $99 the last I checked, but there was
some reason to not use them, maybe they don't support 4.x browsers? I
forget, but I would recommend GeoTrust. They have done us well across
about 10+ sites for a few years now. Thawte isn't bad, either, we use
them for one of our sites, have had no problems with them, I just don't
have a lot of experience with them.

Verisign isn't worth bothering with - whether it is SSL's or domain
names, etc. They always just seem to be a PITA when you want to do
anything but renew with them. It seems like once you deal with
Verisign, you are stuck with them for life - they always find a way to
cause problems, even when you're long gone.
