Mine is Cedar and was pretty weathered. The powerwashing really
cleaned it up and now you can see the Cedar wood again although it was
a real b1tch! Basically you're cleaning your deck in 1 inch strips, 1
board wide; very tedious.

You do have to be careful with the pressure you use - I used 1400 psi
and that was plenty. More pressure does it faster, but it can also
damage the softer wood. I think if you keep it to 1200 - 1400 psi
you'll have more labor, but it's safer.

My wife also brought home a sweet belt sander to smooth the ridges,
but I'm going to need a nail setter or a small hammer to reset the
nails as the sander sands off the top of the nails if you're not
careful.

As it was raining today I couldn't finish the job yesterday but what
I'll do next is:

1.) Set all of the nails,
2.) Finish sanding the floor, and
3.) Chemically strip, clean, and stain it.

It should look pretty nice! A lot of work though ...
