There are software packages for Windows Pocket PC that will let you map all the 
open Wi-Fi spots in a given area. That's how prevalent the problem is.

What to do? Nothing, unless you are comfortable doing what Dana did- hunting 
down the source of the signals and politely informing them of the security 
issues.
