I've only had cable twice in my life. About 10 years ago I got it for my
cousin as a reward for him well in school (he was living with me at the time).

And about two years ago we got it for my then 2 year old daughter so she could
watch the Disney shows, Wiggles, Stanley, Higgly Town Heroes etc...

However, I am about to move away from cable because of Disney. I am tired of
the relentless commercials and promotions especially for brat related shows. I
don't want her watching shows of kids talking back to their parents, displaying
bad attitudes etc...

I will miss Mythbusters and American Chopper not to mention the History Channel
but that's life.

We went cold turkey from cable in November of 2002 (kids were 8 and 5
at the time) and have never looked back.
You and the kiddies will adjust and very soon you'll have
conversations with the wife like, "when did we ever find time to watch
TV?"
