She's 13. She's been removed from her parents' custody, and there's a
distinct possibility that it was because she was being sexually
abused. While I don't want to be the pluperfect liberal bleeding heart
-- I hate abortion, actually -- this girl is only just barely old
enough to *maybe* be responsible for her actions and the odds are
already very much against her. Maybe she ran away because she was
being mistreated, hmmm? It happens a lot in foster care. Either way,
sex with a thirteen year old is by definition rape, unless perhaps her
partner is her age or younger.
