The USA has the ability to strike any country at anytime with any weapon in its arsenal including nukes. Bush has pulled out of the Salt II accord to enable a renewal of Nuclear Weapons research. The USA is the only country to use nukes other than in testing.
Britain France Russia China Pakistan India and other Former Soviet Union Countries All have the same capabilities as North Korea. Israel Iran South Africa (supposedly completely disarmed its Nuclear capability) Syria Have all been accused of having Nuclear weapons or close to having them. I would consider some of those more viable than others. Does anyone really doubt Israel's Nuclear capabilities? I'm not a big fan of the North Korean Government. However, especially after the lies propagated by the Bush administration to get us involved in Iraq I am just as distrustful of the Bush bunch as I am of the North Koreans. After all when was the last time the North Koreans attacked anyone? How many operations have the US been in since that time? I think Bush brings us closer to WWIII than the North Koreans do. How many fronts is he willing to open at one time? How many nations with side with the North Koreans in a conflict? What about if the US gets into another mid-east state? How long before we divide the world into pro-USA and anti-USA factions that are willing to support each other in battle? Iraq - Been there done that - still there Afghanistan - Been there done that - Still there Iran - Just waiting for a good reason to invade Syria - Just waiting for a good reason to invade North Korea - Just looking for an excuse to start Cuba - ? would Bush attack if he thought he produce a convincing enough argument? I think if left alone North Korea will puff its collective national chest and display its might, but will do nothing to initiate aggression. Its all rhetoric. I am not willing to engage American troops with the North Koreans over "we think they have the ability and might be willing to use it." The former Soviet Union had the ability for decades. Hell not that long ago they were the Evil Empire. Yet we got out of that stand-off without going to war or bombing each other. So lets scale back the rhetoric and give this one some time. We've troops all over the region including huge deployments in Japan, Okinawa, Guam, and South Korea. Monitor what's going, keep a vigilant watch. But stop escalating the situation with this back and forth rhetoric. If you stop daring them to cross the line in the sand they'll have nothing to cross. Hence nothing to do. I'm tired of the scare tactics by our current administration. "They can deliver a Nuke to California!" I live here and I'm more afraid of Bush that the North Koreans. >>>I sense that the war hawks are leaning toward 'Regime Change', and with the hard line the BUsh Administration has been taken, and it's strong Rhetoric against North Korea they seem to be building things to the point where the only response will be a Military one.
