Some states are moving to ban sale of pseudoephedrine altogether.

I have mixed feelings about the restrictions and bans. Growing up with
bad allergies, I was dependent on it to just get through the day. But
I also lived in a fog (non-drowsy my ass) which the modern allergy
meds like Allegra and Claritin don't cause. It helps that loratadine
(Claritin) is available OTC now but it's still too expensive.

I like seeing progress in the meds available and don't have a problem
with better meds supplanting older, less effective ones. But at the
same time, this seems like it's more legislation that hurts the
majority who are responsible users in order to curb the behavior of
the irresponsible. And that rankles.
