Just so you know (and not to defend them) but the free JDJ isn't a
"mistake".  Mags promise advertisers a certain distribution numbers and in
turn place orders for those numbers to the printers.  When the paid
subscribers don't meet those numbers sending the rest out free covers both
sides of the problem.

And placing the "Resubscribe now!" warnings all over them sometimes catch
people (my wife has re-subscribed to mags I didn't want).  So they make
their advertisers happy, they get rid of overprints and they sometimes gain
subscribers.
