Actuallly there is more to it than just being secular, though that is
a large part of it, it was also orignally writen for an Adulterious
scene in an Opera and the composer was also a Nazi..well not a nazi
but he hated Jewish peoples so all the same I suppose. We looked at my
friend's wedding bulliten the other day (another luthren wedding) and
she had the song in her wedding so we plan to use this as
leverage...course this church has turned more and more conservative
over the years they just reacently voted to not agree with the ELCA
(the group of churches they are in) and thier policies on
Homosexuality which was mainly it will be tolerated... which I find
funny that this church does not tolerate homosexuality b/c we'll be
having about 10-15 homo's at the wedding and they all have dates :-D
If I'd known the church was so against gays earlier I would have
pushed more for my one freind (a guy) to be a bride's maid ;)
